Massiel Jimenez, LAMFT is Englewood Therapy Associates' newest mental health counselor. She is a Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist*. She specializes in children, teens, couples and families struggling with a wide range of difficulties. We are thrilled that she is able to conduct therapy in Spanish and English, making her our go-to for multi-generational bilingual families seeking therapy.
*NJ's Licensing Board requires all LAMFTs in private practice, regardless of years of experience, to work under supervision for 2 years. Massiel's clinical and entrepreneurial mentorship is provided by Dr. Nadine OReilly.
As a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I am devoted to assisting individuals, couples and families of all ages and genders recognize the unhealthy patterns and behaviors that impact their lives and the lives of those around them. I am passionate about helping others develop healthy coping skills and prosocial behaviors through goal-oriented, proactive and collaborative therapy. I am committed to providing exceptional, culturally-competent care.
Seeking therapy is one of the hardest things we can do. It takes courage and a willingness to look at life through a different lens. You're trusting that you will land in a safe place with a therapist who will show up for you without judgment or biases. I can promise to provide that for you.
I strongly believe that you are the expert of your life and that my role as your therapist is not to tell you what to do, but to provide you with the tools and support to make changes that will last long after our work together is completed.
My theoretical approach is eclectic and tailored to your needs. I am trained in (and trust) Structural family therapy, Bowen family therapy, solution-focused therapy, Narrative therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Each provide a unique and effective framework for our work together.
Having worked in mental health agencies and private practice, I am prepared to help you and/or your loved ones with a wide variety of issues, such as: trauma, maladaptive behaviors, poor coping skills, anger management, impulse control, marital discord, life transitions, stress, grief/loss, communication difficulties & low self esteem.
If you are motivated and committed to making positive changes in your life, and open to exploring tools and techniques that will help you reach your goals, we will be a great fit for each other. I look forward to working with you to help you re-discover yourself, create new possibilities, and renew hope in the future.
